Herend Suite

This beautiful suite can be considered unique in Hungary. Although there is a similar Suite in Budapest at Hotel Kempinski, this is the only Herend Suite in a magnificient Hungarian castle.

In addition to the antique furniture of the tastefully decorated suites with restrained elegance one finds several famous Herend figurines and articles of daily use that were once generally to be found in the rooms of the ancient castles. For example, vases, wall plates and porcelain images. In addition, you'll also notice lamp vases with Victoria décor, which received its name from the Queen of England, further a beautiful cake service and an inkwell also with Victoria décor, but in Héderváry colour. This even today very popular colour was developed by the Herend Porcelain Manufactory at the end of the 19th century upon order of the count Károly Khuen-Héderváry. He was elected twice prime minister of Hungary. Several ornaments are painted with another famous Herend décor, the Apponyi, also combined with the Héderváry colour. This pattern, first created in the 1930s for the Count Albert Apponyi, combines the exoticism of the Far East and the balanced civic lifestyle. With its clear, stylized floral patterns, it exudes calmness but also contenience.

The display case situated in the suite contains other well-known Herend porcelain figurines such as the Hadik Hussar, which is the work of Zsigmond Kisfaludy Stróbl, the character of Mrs. Déry, the Matyó Madonna, the Woman combing, the work of Elek Lux, and the parts of the Dancer series that have been manufactured according to the plans of Kata Gácsér.

The new "Herend Suite" was set up in one of the most preferred suites of the Héderváry Castle****, the Moson Suite. This suite of large ground-space, with several rooms and antique furniture and a romantic little balcony overlooking the park offers perfect comfort. It consists of two separate sleeping rooms with a spacious entrée and has a separate bathroom and toilet. Decorated with the Herend Porcelain objects of unique beauty, the suite is likely to be even more appreciated by the guests, and looks forward to an even greater popularity. For the antique furnishings complemented with beautiful ornaments befitting the count's castle makes in fact an authentic environment, which is a real "Paradise" for lovers of arts and ancient times. Beside all this, the achievements of modern times must not be missing. The convenience of our guests is not only served by a premium category Loewe TV and a Pioneer DVD player, but also by a Bose radio / CD player.
